Sveti Vlas is located amphitheatrically along the Black seaside and in the foot of the eastern part of Balkan Mountains. Its location is close to Bourgas city – 40 km and to the resort complex Sunny Beach– 4 km.
Sveti Vlas was originally founded in the 2nd century as a Thracian settlement named Larissa. In the 14th century, it was named Sveti Vlas, meaning Saint Vlas who was farmer, medical man and patron of salespersons. The name of the holy man was given to a monastery, which existed during the period between 14th-18th centuries and was subsequently set on fire by numerous sudden attacks of pirates.
The superior combination of mountain and sea contribute to the unique climate conditions of Sveti Vlas, and this set of conditions promotes healing and climatic improvement in case of lung diseases. The climate of the region is uniquely healthful, and the mountain slopes face south; the forests, the sea and the beaches are excellent for holidays and relaxation.

The presence of air draught between the sea and the adjacent mountain gorge results in a mild, pleasant and unique natural phenomenon that purifies the air and removes dusts and other irritable agents.
Sveti Vlas is the preferred choice for holidaymakers who would love to enjoy the beauty of the mountains, and amuse themselves on the beach. There are three beaches of total length 1,5 km. The central beach is the longest, south of it is the small beach “Camping”, the third beach is near the yacht port “Marina”.
